Bow & Arbour

Wholesale FAQS

WHAT IF I DON'T PLACE 3 ORDERS PER YEAR?

WE WAN'T TO TRY AND KEEP OUR PHOTOGRAPHER COMMUNITY COMMITTED TO WEDDING ZINES, AND FAIRLY EXCLUSIVE, THUS THE 3 ORDER MINIMUM EACH YEAR. IF YOU ARE STRUGGLING TO MEET THIS, WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND A STUDIO SAMPLE SO THAT COUPLES CAN PHYSICALLY FEEL THE PRODUCT. THAT SAID, IF DON'T MEET THE MINIMUM IN A GIVEN YEAR, YOU WON'T BE BANISHED! WE'LL JUST START A DISCUSSION AND SEEK TO UNDERSTAND YOUR POSITION, AND HELP WHERE WE CAN.

Will you help us sell them?

Absolutely! We’ll provide you with a suite of pictures and wording so that you can reach out to past and future couples and update your website. In our experience, having a physical sample at client meetings also does wonders for conversion. So, if you don’t yet have a sample, please consider ordering an additional copy or two when you make your first wholesale purchase. We promise that the return on investment will be good!

can i use bow & arbour sales offers/promotions for my wholesale orders?

No. the sales we run are for retail customers only. in any case, your wholesale prices are always less than any sale offer to the general public.

Can I advertise wedding zines on my website and across my social media?

Absolutely. You are an official partner and distributor of our product and we’d love you to promote it as much as possible.  In time, if you decide to take any photos of your zines, please send them through so we can share them too!

What are the timeframes in terms of order to print approval and then from print approval to physical delivery?

Please allow 10-15 working days to receive a digital version of your zine order for you to approve, however this timeframe is an approximate as it will depend on our work load. We are only small and want nothing more than to maintain our quality standards. In turn, please then allow a further 10-15 working days from print approval to physical delivery. Ie. The whole process from order to delivery will take approximately 4-6 weeks, depending on demand and workflow.

If I order without lettering and/or foiling, does this mean there won’t be a title on the cover?

There shall always be a title! Whilst lettering and foiling gives any zine that bespoke and unique feel, every zine will be presented to you for approval with at least three cover design options. We work with plenty of fonts and your photos and these come as standard – no additional charge. Ie. Even without foiling and lettering, we can make covers look stupendous! Please note, we’ll work with an icon where one has been designed for the couple as part of their wedding stationery. If a couple does not have an icon but would really like a memorable cover, we recommend the lettering and foiling. If there is a particular style of font you would like us to work with please let us know or send through an example.

When a client decides on a package that includes Wedding Zines, do they have the ability to speak directly with Bow & Arbour or must everything come through me as the photographer?

That is entirely up to you! We will do whatever you think will work best for your business and your couples. We can be anonymous to your couples, or very involved with them, whichever you’d prefer. Please just keep us in the loop!

If I decide to send a couple directly to Bow & Arbour’s website for them to order directly, will I still get my margin/commission?

Yes, we will transfer you the difference between the retail rate and wholesale rate per your signed agreement. Very importantly however, do not send your wholesale order link to couples. That is for when you are placing an order on their behalf because the couple purchased a photography package from you that included wedding zines, and you are handling the order/zine creation process on their behalf. If you do refer a couple straight to Bow & Arbour, please just use www.bowandarbour.com and we will know that you referred them because we’ll ask that in the purchase form they need to complete.

Can I place an order for just one zine?

No. We’ve carefully thought about the quantities we offer and one of our points of difference versus the traditional wedding album is the fact that couples will receive multiple copies of their ‘wedding album’. This is important because we want couples to permanently display their zines, gift them to family and have the ability to order a reprint in 20 years’ time, should the need arise.

Where do I obtain the wording that a couple may like to include in their zine? For example, vows, introductory wording, conclusion, song lyrics, readings etc.

Please review our standard purchase form here. Feel free to include elements of the form somewhere within your own website, or provide this link to your couples directly.

What is a 'standard zine’?

A standard zine has 200 internal pages (100 spread) and a cover, with no foiling or lettering.

How would you like our images supplied and how many?

We need a minimum of 250 and a maximum of 400 images supplied in their original size, in chronological order of your couple’s day - so we can tell the story correctly. We find Wetransfer and Dropbox to be the easiest way to transfer the files. Alternatively, a USB can be posted.  If you can supply your images in CMYK, you'll get extra brownie points! If not, don’t stress!

Tell me about pricing...

The wholesale prices exist for you to provide a distinguishable offering to your couples, but also so that you are financially rewarded for your zine selling and marketing efforts. That said, the pricing you quote to your couples is at your discretion - you can charge the full retail rate, or something less. You can even charge more than the retail rate but remember that couples may come across our website and compare pricing.

Tell me about packaging...

Part of the Bow & Arbour service includes premium packaging. Once packaged we can send your zine orders either to you as the photographer or directly to your client, whichever you prefer. We fit a maximum of 5 zines into each of our premium boxes, so a 10-zine order will contain two boxes, hence the double price postage and handling.

If we have missed something or you have further questions, please feel free to send us an email and we’ll get straight back to you.
